All the detained are held in the temporary detention facility. The court will decide on pre-trial restriction measures for them.
The businessman and owner of the brewery Shymkentpivo, Tohtat Tuleshev, was detained on January 30 in Shymkent, southern Kazakhstan.
He was accused of illegal possession of drugs, organization of murder and kidnapping, bodily harm of varying severity, deliberate destruction of property, hostile takeover.
"The investigative authorities have evidence saying Mr. Tuleshev was preparing for the coup, last year he undertook concrete steps preparing the violent seizure of power,” Karasev told reporters today.
"His action plan foresaw destabilization of the situation in the country through creation of several tension areas, organization of protest actions and mass disorders.
