Everything will be known: Hijran Huseynova on the bribery allegations
Commenting on the case of Safar Imanov, the former head of the Committee’s office, who is accused of embezzling $170,000, Huseynova said the Committee has already expressed its position on this matter.
Necessary investigative measures are underway, everything will be known after the investigation is over, according to Huseynova. "Safar Imanov has fled the country and I don’t know where he is,” she said.
With regard to the reports of bribery allegations against her, Huseynova said all these are lie and slander.
"Journalist should check the facts while reporting. I think it is not right to cover such outrageous reports about someone, especially about state officials,” she added.
Safar Imanov, the former head of the office of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, is accused of embezzling $170,000 from a citizen under the guise of granting him/her a position of executive authority deputy head.
Lawyer Adem Mammadov said that he fled the country via Baku-Istanbul flight on 31 January 2015.
The State Committee received appeals from citizens regarding acts of fraud and bribery committed by the former head of the committee’s office Safar Imanov.
On 5 February 2016, the State Committee appealed to the Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General in order to investigate the case.
