The Vatican copy of the ‘Book of Dede Gorgud’, one of the oldest literary monuments of the Azerbaijani folk literature, will be published in the "National Literature” series of Khan publishing house, APA reports.
The Vatican Copy of the book is preserved in the Vatican Library. It was rewritten in the first half of the 16th century and consists of one preface and six parts.
The copy, called "Hekayeti-Oghuznameyi-Gazan bag and gayri”, will be converted from the ancient alphabet into a modern one, and presented to the Azerbaijani readers.
Doctor of Philology, Professor Tarlan Guliyev is the transliterator of the literary monument and the author of the preface and commentaries. Doctor of Philology, Professor Fuzuli Bayat is the scientific editor of the copy. Doctor of Philosophy, assistant professor Shamil Sadig is the publisher of the literary monument.
The book was prepared for publication under the decision of the Scientific Council of the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli.
