Second phase begins in reconstruction of Jojug Marjanli
The second phase has begun in the reconstruction of Jabrayil’s Jojug Marjanli
Director of the Social Fund for Development of IDPs, Sabir Ahmadov, said in a statement to APA 17ha area will be cleared for the construction of 100 residential houses in the village. There will also be a kindergarten, a 50-bed hospital, an administrative building, a post office, as well as a number of commercial facilities.
Head of the Jabrayil district executive authority, Kamal Hasanov, told APA that the second stage alone will not be enough for the full housing of villagers.
"…because the population has doubled since the village was abandoned. When Jojug Marjanli was taken by Armenians, there were 209 houses and 250 farmlands in the village, while today there are 418 farmlands, that is, families. While the population was 1,070 back then, today it’s 1,500,” he said.
In the first phase, 50 new houses had been allocated by lottery and tomorrow they will begin to move to the village.
