All the appointments to the first half of Sporting – Qarabag match in the Europa League group stage to be held in Portugal have been made public.
Report informs that a brigade of referees from France will manage the game. François Letexier will be the main referee of the encounter. Sideline referees Siril Münyö and Mehdi Rahmun will help him. Bertrand Juanno will be the fourth referee. Additional assistants are Frank Schneider and Karim Abed.
Referee inspector of the match is Elmir Pilav from Bosnia and Herzegovina and UEFA representative is Patrick Filipek from Czechia.
29-year-old Letexier has been appointed to the Azerbaijani team for the first time in his career. He was the main referee of the match last season at UEFA Champions League semi-final when Sporting lost to Barcelona 0:1.
Letexier will manage the Europa League group stage game for the first time in his career. The young referee was named the international referee in January 2017. He has shown 3 red and 48 yellow cards in 11 matches, but never set a penalty.
Notably, the Sporting – Qarabag match to be played on September 20 at Estádio José Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon starts at 23:00 Baku time.
