How to manage time effectively during quarantine days

Experts warn not to disturb sleep patterns and recommend reading books, watching movies
Many countries are on lockdown for several months due to the coronavirus. People have been asked not to leave their homes unless it is necessary. These measures, of course, are primarily implemented to protect human health, but also to prevent the spread of the virus.
Azerbaijan has been under a special quarantine regime for some time. In some places, work has been suspended, and in others, home offices have been created. Almost all media outlets and officials use the slogan "stay home" to urge people to stay home and protect themselves. Most, if not all, of us, follow these rules. We try to protect ourselves and our loved ones by staying at home. But there is one point that cannot be ignored. In the current situation, sitting at home is affecting people, to some extent, both socially and psychologically. This can be seen from the posts shared on social media. It is more difficult to stay at home, especially for those who work hectically and have an active social life. Of course, if the topic is our health, we should not take the issue lightly. It is at times hard not to become bored at home. Therefore, we contacted experts and talked about the impact of the quarantine on the social and psychological state of people and ways to take advantage of the current situation.
Psychologist Gulnar Orujova said that people are experiencing psychological tensions these days. "Currently, we witness some cases of protest against the bans, aggression, non-compliance with the rules, violation of the quarantine regime. Of course, the bans and enforced regime are for our health. People misjudge these quarantine days. They visit their relatives, whom they haven't seen for a long time. This is not right, they should stay at home, realizing the seriousness of the situation. You can't visit people or do any other work outdoors. It would be better for them to spend their leisure time at home more effectively. The most important thing is not to disturb their sleep patterns, it is most important to maintain their previous routine. They need to go to bed and get up at the same time every day. Even during quarantine, sleep patterns should continue as normal. People can use this time to discover new skills. I follow this on social media, and many people in my contacts write about their new abilities. The emergence of such skills has a positive effect on them. Also, they can exercise. Women, in particular, complain about sitting at home and gaining weight. If they exercise several times during quarantine days, they won’t gain weight. It would be better for parents to spend time with their children, for them to play games and study together. Though virtual, they can also communicate with acquaintances and relatives whom they haven’t talked to in a long time,” she said.
According to sociologist Lala Mehrali, since the quarantine period is temporary, people should spend this time efficiently. "I think this situation is a very good opportunity for men to better understand women. In particular, they learned about the living conditions of women who stay at home all day and do not have a wide social circle. We are also a hospitable nation, we love to visit and welcome guests. Therefore, sitting at home all day in quarantine causes our people to be depressed. But we can turn it to our advantage. Let's find new activities and spend more time with our children. There were always people around me who complained about the lack of time saying they did not have time to read a book, watch a movie, or do anything else they wanted. The current situation is a great opportunity for them. That is, these quarantine conditions are temporary, and then we will return to the previous hectic working conditions. Therefore, it is better to spend this time efficiently,” she said.
