Chairperson of the Azerbaijani State Examination Center (SEC) Maleyka Abbaszade has commented on the suicide of two applicants in Sumgayit following the entrance exams on 2nd and 3rd specialty groups held on May 13.
Abbaszade noted that the suicides took place before the results of the entrance exams were announced.
She said that this issue relies on the parents.
"Parents want their children to pursue higher education for their happiness. A child reluctant to study may have other good skills. It is necessary to consider the ideas of teens and have a dialog with them. It is not right for parents to demand unfulfilled things in their life from their children. The suicides are not problems concerning the State Examination Center. We have various educational videos that provide detailed information on preparation for the entrance exams,” she added.
